What is AFCAT?
The full form of AFCAT is 'Air Force Common Admission Test'. With the help of this, graduate youth are selected for the Air Force, who can join the Airforce and work in many fields. With the help of AFCAT, you can apply for any one of the three branches.
1) Flying
2) Ground Duty Technical (Engineering)
3) Ground Duty Non Technical (Administration and Education)
AFCAT Eligibility
Many qualifications are seen in you to give AFCAT exam and get job in Air Force.
AFCAT Age Limit
For Flying Branch in AFCAT, your age should be between 20 to 24 years.
For Technical & Non Technical Branch in AFCAT, your age should be between 20 to 26 years.
AFCAT Educational Qualification
In this, for Flying Branch, it is mandatory for you to pass 12th with Physics and Maths from a recognized board. You should have at least 50% marks in both the subjects in 12th Mains. Apart from this, you must have a graduation from a recognized university in which you have at least 60 percent marks. Or you have done engineering or B Tech which is of four years. You should have at least 60 percent marks in this.
To go to Ground Duty Technical, you must have done engineering or B. Tech, which should be of four years. You should have at least 60 percent marks in this. To choose this branch, your engineering should be in the mentioned branch as per AFCAT Notification.

For Ground Duty Non Technical, you have passed 12th and after that you have done graduation from a recognized university. You should have at least 60 percent marks in your graduation.
AFCAT Marriage Eligibility
Married person cannot apply in AFCAT Exam. The person whose age is less than 25 years and he is married is not eligible for this. On the other hand, divorced, widow or widower also cannot apply for this.
AFCAT Nationality Eligibility
The candidate applying for AFCAT must be an Indian under the Indian Citizenship Act 1995.
AFCAT Physical Eligibility
Many physical eligibility has been sought to apply in this exam. Many parameters have been given on the basis of your feet size, chest size, eyesight, your hearing ability etc. You can read them in detail in its notification. Apart from this, even if you have a tattoo on your body, you cannot apply for it.
AFCAT Exam Pattern
AFCAT Exam is an online exam. There are two types of papers in this. One paper is AFCAT which is compulsory for all. The second paper is EKT which is for those applicants who have opted for Technical.
AFCAT paper is of two hours duration. In this 100 questions are asked. These questions are asked from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. 3 marks are allotted for each question. In this way it is a paper of 300 marks.
The EKT paper is of 45 minutes duration. In this, questions are asked from Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics. The number of questions in this is 50. 3 marks are allotted for each question. In this way, this entire paper is of 150 marks.
Objective questions are there in the whole paper. If a person gives a wrong answer to a question, then one mark is deducted for a wrong answer.
Air Force Selection Process
You are selected in the Air Force through AFCAT Exam, you know this. But just giving the exam does not make you selected. There are some steps even after giving the exam.
1) Online Exam
The first step is online exam. About which you have already learned above. You have to clear it first. If you qualify it then you are called for the next stage.
2) Physical Test
Applicants who qualify the online exam are called for physical test. In this they are made to do physical activities. In which marks are given to them on the basis of their performance.
3) Medical Test
Medical test is taken after physical test. In which it is ascertained whether there is any defect in the applicant's body. He does not do drugs, whether he is right for the Air Force or not.
4) Interview
The last step is the interview. In this also you are given marks on the basis of your performance.
After clearing all these steps a merit list is prepared. It contains the names of all those who have been selected in the Air Force through AFCAT. If you are also a graduate then you can make your best career by joining Air Force.
